Some information on La Grave
La Grave enjoys legendary status among expert skiers and snowboarders. This quiet, unspoilt off-piste mecca in close proximity to Les Deux Alpes should be on every skier or snowboarder’s wish list.
Most of the classic routes we take during our trips are no steeper than any difficult red run, however the nature of the ungroomed terrain and the amount of vertical descent covered can prove a challenge for any good skier.
Content on the full day trip
During our trips we hope to cover both the Meije and Chancel valleys running either side of the famous two stage “pulse” gondola.
A stop for lunch at one of the mountain refuges offers a great opportunity to admire the majestic “La Meije” (3980 m) and its glaciers.
Our full day trips start and finish in Les Deux Alpes as we will cross over the glacier into La Grave on our skis/snowboards. The half day trips utilise our minibus shuttle to and from La Grave to optimise precious skiing time.
We need at least three guests for trips to go ahead. The trips are dependent on weather and snow conditions, but we will endeavour to run the trip on an alternate day rather than cancelling. In the event of cancellation, or if an alternate day is not convenient for you, all payments will be refunded.
Free ability assessment session
To ensure that your skiing or snowboarding is at the level to enjoy one of our off-piste trips to La Grave, we organise a free ability assessment in Les 2 Alpes every Monday afternoon from 4-5pm.
Typical programmes for the days are as follows. Please note that these are to illustrate what you might expect. The instructor will make route choices on the day depending on snow conditions and the ability of the group.
