Medical fees, first aid and medical transportation (by ambulance, snowmobile or helicopter) cost a fortune in any ski resort, so it is highly important that you have fully comprehensive medical and accident insurance before you start your holiday.
The cost of ski or snowboard lessons with or without lift pass does not include accident insurance.
The Les Deux Alpes lift pass company (SATA) do offer winter sport insurance as an extra option at approx 3,50€ per day.
This insurance cover can be added to your lift pass at the central ticket office on presentation of your lift pass. Please note however that the purchase of insurance must be made before you make any use of the lift pass on your first day of skiing.
For any extra information concerning the add on option of accident insurance please enquire on your arrival in the resort.
If you have your own insurance which you have purchased independently or through a tour operator, make sure it includes all the activities you plan to participate in. Not all policies cover off-piste skiing or snowboarding, and most do not cover freestyle.
If you want to take part in an off-piste lesson, or one of our trips to La Grave, you must be insured to ski off-piste with an instructor.
